  • VEPro Server Projects Force Quit when loading - help!

Last month I had been scoring a short film and was successfully using a server project in VEP with a handful of instances. My client took several weeks to get back with their notes, and now that I'm ready to dive back in, I cannot get the server project to reopen!

VEPro completely force quits every time, upon loading the second instance (out of five I believe it was). It does not provide me with any error message when crashing, though, so I have no way of generating a report. It simply closes. And it happens like clockwork at the same point, where I see it is attempting to load Spitfire's Abbey Road Orchestra. For this reason, I was wondering is there any way to open a server project in some kind of disabled "safe mode," where it automatically disables all plugins? This way I could still open it and perhaps delete the offending plugin.

    Here's what I can say:
    - VEPro is completely up to date but also the same version I was using weeks ago.
    - I have not run any system updates or major software updates.
    - I did not update Spitfire products.
    - I was, however, having connection issues with my UA Apollo audio interface and Universal Audio required me to update their driver - this is the only change I have made since I have last opened the project successfully. Though, FWIW, I'm not using any UA plugins within that project.
    - Other server projects are opening fine.

Please let me know how I can investigate this further – thank you!

  • Update: I re-installed Spitfire ARO and that fixed the issue.

However I am still wondering simply if there is a button I can hold down while loading a project to force disable all plugins, effectively a "safe mode" for diagnostic reasons in the future?

This has happened to me on yet another unrelated project, and an entirely different plugin.

I'm going to take it by lack of response that such a feature does not exist, so I would like to request: ability to hold down a key command when opening a server project to force it into "safe mode" by disabling all plugins.

In addition, not sure about the possibility within VEP's environment but a plugin "sandboxing" feature would be great, as a way to prevent one rotten apple from spoiling the entire bunch, and to assist in diagnosing a problematic project file.

    Thanks!
