    Just downloaded the trial version of essential D274. I have issues with the resonance effect. While the samples are clearly of excellent quality I am unable to get a realistic resonance effect. IMO opinion resonance is crucial to a realistic emulation.

    I turn the sympathetic dial. At low to mid values I get nothing. At max value I get a feeble, unrealistic effect.

    Is that a normal behavior? Is it because this is the essential or demo version? Am i doing something wrong?

    By comparison my usual goto piano, Garritan CFX, probably does not have as good samples but resonance is excellent and that makes it much more playable / realistic for me.

    Any comment or suggestion very welcome.

    The resonance with all of their pianos is something that they have in the pipeline to improve. In the meantime, some have gotten excellent results by pairing VSL Piano with Pianoteq and using Pianoteq is configured in a mode where it doesn't produce the piano sounds but only resonance.
