Built two workstations to use as VEP servers and both refuse to launch the software, hanging at "initializing" before crashing with no warning or error message.
I've reinstalled/removed drivers, booted into Windows 10 22H2 and 11 24H2, removed/added ram and GPU units, removed all overclocks, repaired installations, ran old VEP versions, nothing makes a difference. I even fresh installed Windows 10 22H2 with no LAN access or updates/manufacturer-downloaded drivers of any kind, just iLok and VEP 7 -- Still crashes on initialization.
I then made the install on an old intel-based PC and an M1 Macbook Pro and VEP launched without issue. Am I missing some sort of critical step for AMD machines? On a quick google it doesn't seem like others have issues running VEP on AMD...
Both machines use the AMD Ryzen 9 9950x, 192gb of Corsair Vengeance RAM, and ASUS motherboards (the ROG x670e-e and the x670e Hero). Checking the event viewer, the error logs are all pretty much the same, pointing to a "ConsentKey=BEX64"
Would really love some help here as I'm at my wits end.
