Last week I made a small programmatic work for orchestra (most Synchron and a few Studio Brass and Choir) that follows the events of that one night in the fields in Bethlehem with melodies from this time, it begins with
- shepherds with their sheep in a silent night,
- an angel appeared,
- the angel gave the message that the Savior had been born, lying in a manger,
- then a group of angels appeared and praised God, saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men!”
- and finally, that the shepherds (whistling, an added fantasy of mine) went out to look for the Child, leaving the field in silence again...
Peace, which people crave more than ever… so much is being destroyed,…
