  • VEP 7 session with old Vienna Suite not loading Vienna Suite instances

Just upgraded to a Mac Studio M2 Ultra running Sequoia. Today I tried to open an old VEP 7 server project that used old Vienna Suite instances, and those instances didn't load. I currently have a valid Vienna Suite iLok license; I believe these were old eLicenser licenses. So I can instantiate new instances of VS plugs, but can't load the old ones that were saved as part of the project.

I believe that when I switched over to iLok I had to surrender my eLicenser licenses—is that correct? If so, is there any way I can have VEP 7 load the old VS instances that were created when I originally created the project? FWIW I have a valid eLicenser key loaded, and I tried this using both the silicon native and rosetta versions of VEP 7.

    Thanks,

    Peter

You're going to have to rebuild your projects. If you use the Rosetta version of VE Pro Server, then you can load the VST3, or the AU version of the VS plugins. If you use the native version of VER Pro Server, then you can only load the AU version of the VS plugins.

Your original project did not use either of these, since the old version of VE Pro Server was split for apple silicon compatibility.

Edited: You can't have both iLok and eLicenser versions running on the same system.
