  • Are Staccatos in SDS too loud?

    Hi,

    While refining a piece made with Duality Strings, I noticed that the Short > Staccato articulation sounds too loud compared to the others. This, in particular, in the Solo mic, on which I'm now focusing.

    Lowering the articulation(s) by about 3.3dB I get a better balance.

    Is this wanted? Or something that could be fixed?

    (wanted --> I meant, "intentional" – sorry)

  • Hello Paolo!

    It's only natural for string players that staccatos are a bit louder than long notes, because they are played with a stronger attack. We didn't make them louder. The volume relation between the patches is exactly as it has been recorded.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • In the context of a musical phrase, the stacs are glaringly loud. This is true across all the string libraries. I imagine they were recorded in a different session. Fortunately, the NP NPPE engine evens the volume out.
