    Hi there,

    Big MIR fan here but:

in a very simple PT session, jazz duo Guitar Contrabass with an ATMOS setup 7.1.4, with the guitar (Left position) in solo we noticed that the Surround Right sounds very loud unbalancing the entire soundstage.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

  • This is the stage:

  • Your screenshot indicates that you selected a 6.(1).4 Output Format. This will lead to shifted assignments when you intend to use this in a 7.1.4 environment due to the different channel count.

Solution: Either choose a fitting preset format or change the routing of MIR's decoder to the physical output channels. 😊

    HTH!

The screenshot catch me in the wrong format but I tried with different settings, I will try to change the routing, is there by any chance any videos or anything that helps to do this?

    Thanks al lot

    Cheers

Try a pre-configured Output Format first, please, just to rule out any other possible pitfalls.

If this would do the trick, but you still want to re-route from a different preset lay-out, then you can either user the Output Matrices in MIR 3D's Output Editor, or any external plug-in that allows for re-routing channels internally, e.g. Vienna Suite Pro's "Matrix Mixer", or Steinberg's "Mixer Delay".

  • The mastering studio had an outdated version of MIR. With the current version everything works fine.

    (SOLVED)

  • Good to hear that! Thanks for the update.

    Enjoy MIR 3D! 😊
