Synchron Harp question: all functions Studio Harps has?

Does Synchron Harp have all functions Studio Harps has? e.g.

"3- and 4-note arpeggios, major and minor, diminished and augmented upward arpeggios, slow, fast, and straight (as chords)" as shown here:

Do I understand this correctly that Studio Harps lets you play the root note only (one note) and it will play all other notes/more notes in the scale you select? If so, does Synchron Harp have this function?

Of course I could play such runs on the keyboard or program them, BUT I just want to only use notes a real harp player can play....so I don't know how the famous harp runs are played on a real harp...just ascending or descending strings using a certain harp tuning?

Hello Leander!

Your assumption about how the Studio Harp arpeggios work is correct.

Only Studio Harp 1 has pre-recorded arpeggios. However, the Synchron Harp offers a pedal mode that makes it very easy to play arpeggios in all keys and pedal settings using only the white keys of your keyboard. This is more flexible than pre-recorded arpeggios. With this mode you can only play arpeggios that can be performed on the harp too.

Thanks for your reply! I don't know what the pedal does...does this change the actual keys I play?

e.g. I play C D E F G A H C and select scale x and the notes are not changed.
Then I select a different scale, but play C D E F G A H C again, but the notes played back are different because of the scale?

The bottom line of my post is if there is an easy "I play the root key of a scale" and the VSTi plays a "harp run" automatically without me having to look up all keys of the scale and guessing if they can be played on a real harp.

Hello Leander!

Depending on the pedal setup you have chosen in the Synchron Harp player, a played C can be a C flat, a C natural or a C sharp.

If you only want to press one key and get a performed arpeggio, then you will need Studio Harps.

Hmmm i bought the Studio Harp and thought all the features of the Synchron harp are ported? guess i was wrong 😕

I was a bit confused at first as well, especially as there were two distinct harp models sampled for the original series, but after many hours with the Synchron Harp a couple of months ago, and more research online into playing techniques for the concert harp, I concluded that I had been going about it a bit wrong and had been depending too much on pres de la table due to not realizing all the other ways that I could create the right timbre and accents plus attack. I absolutely never use harps for glissandi, but I feel less like an outlier now.
