Maybe @Dietz may help us understand the difference between the normal venues (say, "Konzerthaus - Grosser Saal") and the Stage version (for example, "Konzerthaus - Grosser Saal - Stage"). I suspect the Stage version is just a lighter version, but I see other differences in the various venues with these two versions.

This goes back to the days when RAM restrictions were plaguing early MIR users. The "stage"-versions were simply excluding some of the lesser used HotSpots. Today these versions are included for compatibility reasons, mostly.
Only in case of the Konzerthaus - Großer Saal, the situation is slightly different, as the additional HotSpots come at the expense of fewer Main Microphone positions, too. This has no technical but historical reasons in the recording logistics of the time.
