  • Panning and reverb?

What's the best way to get custom panning and reverb with Synchron Strings Pro? Mixer preset -> "default" has no panning and reverb, correct?

Reverb is not that important as I like prerecorded reverb, too...but I want to set panning myself...I am left-handed and want to hear the melody in the center or about 50% to the right. Violins mixed to the left feels weird to my ears and brain. 😊

Every preset starts with the classic room. Do I just need to use "default" as the mixer preset? Or leave classic as it is and use the panning "dots" ("click to edit" -> power panner) to change panning? Is there a downside of changing panning, e.g. quality loss?

  • have a look at the mixer. Close and Mid are panned for classical orchestra seating. Reverb and other FX depend on the preset you choose. Also visible in the mixer.

  • Thanks. But you can change them to your liking without losing quality?

  • Yes no issue. You can pan all to the middle and use your own spacial layout e.g. the one build into Dorico. You would also do this if you want to set up a Dolby Atmos configuration using all microphones. Functions very well but a lot of work if you have 30 or more instruments.
