  • Humanizer in Instruments Pro and Synchron player

Working with VSL is driving me crazy. I want to make an arrangement of a composition I've made, and I first tried with Vienna Instruments Pro and my VI sound library, but finally had to give up because of the humanizer. It put strong accents on a lot of random notes that completely ruined the performance. Now I've tried making the arrangement with Synchron player, but I'm having problems with it too. For example, when I play 3 equal quarter notes in a row, it plays it as if they were a quarter, an eighth and a quarter note. In both cases, I've tried turning off all the humanizer settings, but nothing seems to help. I want to have full control over every single note. Is there any way to turn off the humanizer completely? Both in Instruments Pro and Synchron player

Hi, your problem is not the Humanizer as you call it. Humanising is a tuning feature. You have a timing issue. I dont know which daw you use but in Cubase you should switch the Automatic Quantise off. Or adjust the Quantise value(s). Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. I use Logic Pro.
My problem wit Instruments Pro is that even if I write 4 quarter notes with the pencil tool with the same pitch, length and velocity, one note often sticks out with a much higher velocity, and it's impossible to adjust them to get them even. It's so frustrating.
With Synchron player it is the note length that changes. I can again writ 4 quarter notes with the same pitch, length and velocity, then one of the notes is played as if it were an eighth note. If this has nothing to do with the humanizer function then I wonder what else could be causing these problems. I never experience this with other sound libraries.

  • What are your Logic settings for quantise, humanise and velocity? Do you have anything sending CC25 or 27? Are CC25 and 27 set at 0? When you look at the event list are the notes all showing the same velocity and length?

Which particular library do find does this I have nearly all the Synchron player based libraries? Can you attach a stripped out version of a logic project that has only the one track with the 4 quarter notes that demonstrates this?

Quantise is set to off in Logic, and CC25 and 27 is set to 0 in Synchrone player.
Things happens also when notes are written in the piano roll with the pencil tool with the exact same velocity and length.
I use wind instruments from Synchron prime edition.
You can listen to enclosed files. One with all notes written in one track, and one with every second note cut to another track. Thats's how it should sound like also when written into one track.

Uploading files didn't work, so I try one more time.

  • @160651 PM me for an email address you can send the project (just that problem track) to.

Thanks for all your help, but now I think I've solved the problem. By loading the articulations from the patches instead of presets, I get unprocessed sounds that give me full control.
