    Hi,

    does someone know the microphone model the Studio Solo Strings were recorded with? Or is this company secret?

    No secret at all. 😉 Older versions of VSL's website gave a very detailed overview of the (quite puristic) recording equipment we used, back then:

    Could very well be that the ORTF setup shown is exactly the one that was used for legacy Vienna Instruments Solo Strings, at least for violin and viola. Maybe @michi Hula can remember the finer details ...

    Basically Dietz remembers correctly with one exception. VI-Solo Violin was recorded with our KFM6.
