I currently have VEP 7 build 7.0.1120 on my two windows 10 slave computers and my older 10.14 mac main computer running DP11. I recently bought a new macmini as my main daw and am going through the process of updating all my plugins because of apple silicon upgrade.
It looks like VEP 7 is now migrating to iLok. I only have one ilok device that i use on my main DAW computer. I don't have ilok running on my two slave computers.
Couple questions:
- I usually don't use elicense on my macmini (as it just runs server instances), I installed the new Vienna Assistant installer thing and ran through some hoops to get VEP 7 installed on the macmini (demo mode etc.) and the server instances load fine in DP, but then there is a version mismatch to the servers.
- When I select check for updates on the servers they say they are running on the most recent version (which clearly isn't true anymore).
What do I have to do to upgrade those machines? Do i need an ilok device for the slave computers now? I don't really want to buy two more ilok sticks.
- Alternatively, can I just run build 7.0.1120 on my new mac mini? I tried to install it but VEP Server doesn't seem to run in DP. Is there a trick to get this working?
thanks!

You can use the cloud version of iLok if you don't want to buy the dongle, thought I recommend getting it for speed and convenience.
You have the latest eLicenser version, which is why it reports that it's up to date. That version won't run on MAC silicone, or maybe with Rosetta.
