    Hi

    I have an ilok device and an ilok account. All my libraries have Steinberg licenses.

    I would like to convert all my licenses that are convertible to ilok. Please guide me.

    I sure I may have some questions, but to start:

    • How do I determine if my ilok device is compatible?

    • Why are some of my licenses not convertible to ilok.?

    • Will my existing Steinberg licenses device continue to work for the non-convertible licenses?

    • Will my libraries be updatable after i get them on ilok?

    • How do I determine which libraries have updates?

    • Could I get a more convenient ilok license like cloud or desktop so I don't have the ilok device inserted. If I do get an alternate license will the device still work as a licenser?

    The switch to iLok might seem more daunting than it is. To answer your questions:

    1) Our licenses are compatible with iLok Cloud or the iLok key (2nd or 3rd generation). See screenshot below.

    2) Some of your products are legacy software and will not be ported to iLok. Namely, VE Pro 5 and MIR Pro. Feel free to get in touch with support@vsl.co.at to discuss your options. The VI Pro player and all your VI Series sample libraries continue to work.

    3) Yes, your existing Steinebrg eLicenser key and the licenses will continue to work unless you lose or break your Steinberg eLicenser key. The old licenses can not be replaced or moved. With the switch, you will receive a new set of licenses, software, and sample content.

    4) Yes, the new sample content you receive is up to date.

    5) Our Vienna Assistant app will show available updates automatically.

    6) We do not offer machine-based activation for the products you have - but the iLok cloud is a good alternative if you prefer that over a physical iLok key.

    Thank you for the details. I had an ilok 1. I just ordered a gen 3. When it arrives i will reach out to sales to aquire my licenses. Thank You
