  • Why do portamento and slurred legato in synchron solo strings sound like two or more strings performed at the same time ?

I just purchased my Synchron solo strings. But I am a little disappointed because of the sound quality as a solo instrument. I was wondering why portamento and slurred legato in synchron solo strings sound like two or or more strings performed at the same time ?

Any possibilities to fix it ? Thanks.

Hi ondine, Dont know what Daw you use but with Cubase the "Input routing" shows the devices avaiable for input. You possible have this set to "All Midi inputs". If so that'll result in a doubling effect like the one you just described. Switching to your favourite input source should cure this. Good luck.

  • Thanks for help. But actually I did not use any DAW for now to test my newly purchased Synchron Solo Cello and Violin. I simply used standalone Vienna Synchron Player to load them. Some youtuber also complains about the same situation. I also found the same problem.

  • starting from 17:45. The doubling effect sounds so obvious that I cannot take it as a solo instrument.

  • Hello ondine!

With VelXF turned on, you often hear two velocity layers played at the same time which can lead to the effect that your hear two violins. You can turn VelXF off anytime on the PERFORM page.

    Best regards,
