    I've been trying to recreate Animenz's piano sound with VSL Steinway. As far as I'm aware, he also uses the software along side his Spiro R.

    Here's an example of one of his videos.



    The settings I have are quite similar however the upper register still sounds too "bell" like compared to his.

    Below are my settings

    Has anyone got ideas how to reduce this "bell" like character? Also, the bass feels a bit weak. As in, when I play FF in the lower registers, the notes are no where near as loud as the upper register at the same volume and force.

    Hi, have a look in Synchron & Studio Pianos series. There's a topic called something like piano patches/presets. There you find a lot of adjusted presets. The VSL Steinway is known for its harshness and as you call it "bell like" sound. Btw the Steinway in de video clip sounds very "mellow" for a Steinway that is. Try a couple of those presets you might find one to your liking. Good luck.
