  • Using two libraries on one instrument (Duality sordino and Synhcron Strings Pro)

In Dorico, using VePro, I would like to be able to use both the Synchron Strings Pro and the Duality Strings Sordino for each og the corresponding string sections, ie, Vlns 1 would access both depending on if it is con sord or not.

I use VePro to host the libraries for Dorico to access.

What would it take in terms of adjusting the expression maps to make this happen?

    Thanks,

    Henrik

Suggest you post this question also on the Dorico forum. Since the matter has to do with Dorico expression maps.

Synchron - Woods, Brass, Perc I, Str Pro, Elite Str, Duality Str & Sordino, Prime Studio - Woods, Perc, Solo Str, Ch Str, Orch Str, App Str, Harps, Choir Studio Dim - Brass, Strings VE Pro, MIR Pro 3D, Vienna Suite Pro Cubase 14, Studio One 6, Dorico 5
  • Hello Henrik!

Mixing different libraries on one staff will not work. You could add two section players in Dorico for each string section - one for Synchron Strings Pro and one for Dynchron Duality Strings Sordino.

  • Hi Andi!

Ok, because someone over at the Dorico-forum mentioned the possibility of making the expression map change the midichannel of the player for specified articulations...?

  • Hi Henrik!

Ok. You would have to create a custom expression map for that. This would be experimental and cannot be supported from us.

  • Ok, thanks!

    - is the Duality Library meant to be able to access both con sord and senza from one stave? ie, both libraries are in one instance of the Synchron Player / preset?

  • Synchron Duality Strings Regular and Synchron Duality Strings Sordino can be loaded in a merged Synchron Player preset and you can switch between the branches with Dorico with the mute playing technique.
