  • VEP working but not seeing unconnected instruments in Cubase

    Hi there

I've been running a Mac and Macbook Pro setup via VEP and Cubase for a couple of years now with no hassles. I upgraded to MacOS Monterey on both machines, and suddenly the Edit Instrument tab is showing up with nothing in it. My routing all still works and I can play my saved instruments in my templates, but if I try connecting a new instance of say Kontakt, and I create a new instance of VEP within Cubase, it doesn't show up in the edit window where you are supposed to connect to that remote instance. Any ideas? Am I doing something stupid? I'm attaching an image of the window I'm talking about...

PS: it does it on all iterations of Cuabse- 12, 13 and 14.

    Thank you!

  • Not sure if this the issue you describe but the last months VE Pro connected server projects start showing an empty instance menu if you want to connect new instances after maybe an hour working. So your VE Pro is connected all instances you created earlier work, you still have several unconnected instances in your VE Pro project but the connect popup is empty when you try connecting a new one.

The solution proposed by Andi of VSL in the Dorico forum which works for me 100% of the time is to simply go to preferences in your VE Pro project and close it again. Miraculously the remaining instances appear again and you can connect. It works in Dorico but also Cubase.
