Where is a large number of articulations of Synchron Strings I in Synchron Strings Pro?
-
Hello vegassky!
The articulations from "Synchron Strings I" have been integrated in the "Synchron Strings Pro" presets. Look for the "Full range", "Soft layers", "Medium layers" and "Loud layers" branches. These patches originally are from "Synchron Strings I".
The file size is now smaller, because the content is now compressed lossless.

I own both Synchron Strings Pro and Synchron Strings I. However, I haven't installed the latter because of the size. I don't see the extra articulations in the Synchron player when I open Synchron Strings Pro. Should there be an update or do I need to install the Synchron Strings I library to see them there?

That is good news. It will create a lot of space on my SSD.
I do have a problem with my Cubase template with VE Pro due to the new presets for SY Strings Pro. It automatically loads all instruments for all orchestral sections but apparently it also remembers the presets as it keeps resetting the SY Strings Pro instrument presets to the old non integrated version. That then generates an F6 drone which is a key switch in the expression map for the new preset with Strings I integrated. So I load a VE Pro project with the new presets and the moment I open a project in Cubase based on my Cubase VE Pro template, the preset in VE Pro switches to the old one and the F6 drone starts.
Any idea how to correct this reset steered by Cubase?

Hello Mavros!
"Synchron Strings I Optimized" is fully integrated in the new "Synchron Strings Pro" presets.
Best regards,
AndiHi Andy,
that‘s good to know. In other words… this must mean that some articulations have other names now.
Okay I will delete the SS1 content then and will try to find the articulations - match in the SSPro then.
Just out of interest… why are the SS1 no more visible in the Preset Browser. Actually … this is not the Right way. But luckily you have not made this with the Smart Product at least.Greetings, Lars

Hi Mavros and Lars!
Your old projects stay as they have been saved. If you load the presets in your old projects, they should be updated.
The patches from "Synchron Strings I" that are now included in "Synchron Strings Pro" didn't get renamed.
It's true that the new "Synchron Strings Pro" content damaged the old "Synchron Strings I" content. That was not our intention. We are looking into this.
Best regards,
Andi

In Dorico I have all Expression Maps fixed now. Somehow the additional key switch layer for longs with all settings in normal and regular which is defined as natural in Dorico and default in Cubase) causes the F6 drone. It is not clear why as this articulation has F6 in as switch. Adding all key switches to natural seems to solve the issue. So C#0, C1, G1 (added), F6, A6 .
In Cubase I am still battling with the EM and the VE Pro preset.

Thanks Andi If I do not solve it this weekend I will reach out to support. The issue I have is that SY Strings Violins 1 produces a high drone note (F6I think) the moment a natural (longs, default) is activated. The reason is the VSL provided expression map. if I remove it I do not have the issue but can of course not switch articulations.

The Dorico expression map "VSL SY Strings Pro - Violins, Violas" sends an F7 for "Normal release" (Middle C = C4). That's outside of the range of this instrument. I guess that you either have changed the expression maps yourself at some point to send F6 or that you have expanded the play range so that it overlaps with the keyswitches.

Andi
