5 minutes maximum time to be able to delete a message is not enough.

This deadline should be 15 minutes, just like that of the possible modification, which is already very short!

I tend to agree. It took more than 5 minutes trying to find a way of deleting the post. (I noticed I'd made the error after about a minute, so that was a minute gone.

But anyway, is there an edit / delete button somewhere? Is it in the format bars just above the post area?

    Thank you for advising me.

  • You see, there's nothing immediately in sight that offers delete.

Ha! It now tells me I'm a new user and can't post this for 300 seconds. I've only been registered since about 2020! How old must I get to be a non-new user? I shall go and make a cuppa.

Ah, right. Thank you. It's hardly obvious but now I know and I can try it out.

  • No. It still doesn't work. I clicked settings immediately after posting the above and all I get is "report post." I'll have to keep away from here.

I've been using VSL and posting here from the start for a few years now so it seems insulting that I'm still a new user. Can't it be changed to relate to the number of posts?

  • You should not be classified as new user. Are you using any browser extensions that can change the site?

Sorry for the inconvinience. We migrated the forum software last year and since it is a completely different system a lot internally has changed.
