  • Difference between Synchron Player Stereo and 5.1

Is there any difference in the samples used for these two versions of the SY Player? I see a different panner in the 5.1 version which I never use as I define the positioning of the signals using different channels in my DAW or VEPro but I do not hear any difference between the two versions if I route the respective microphones in the same manner e.g a 5.1.2 setup.

I am using VEPPro running on the same Mac as my DAW or Dorico for nearly all my work and there only the stereo version of the SY Player is shown.

  • Hi Mavros,

It's all about the routing. If you insert VE Pro as a surround plug-in, you will also see the Synchron Player surround version in VE Pro.

Yes, it's always the same samples, but you can decide where to send the available channel in your surround setup.

  • Thanks Paul I will try that for a 5.1 setup. Till now I always used the standard VE Pro version and routed the mono and stereo SY signals in VEPPro to e.g. reproduce 6-8 Dolby Atmos sources. You are also doing that in your video on SY Player Dolby Atmos I think. After having experimented with bed/object combinations I now only use objects in Atmos,
