Hi,
I've noticed that in VSL's Dorico expression maps for Prime woodwinds default to non-vibrato (selected by the Natural articulation). Is this just one of the possible options, or is it the more natural option for classical music?
I know that, during my short studies of flute and clarinet, I was trained to have the steadiest sound possible, but I guess this was only due to the need to gain lips and breath steadiness. I know that vibrato on clarinet is not the preferred option, but it is common on the flute.
Should I assume that a composed, well-dosed, spare use of vibrato is recommended? Even the normal vibrato is never excessive, in VSL's libraries.
