  • Prime Strings patches attack control by velocity in flow view

    Hi Everybody,

In "flow view", with 1st Violins (14), E1 Long, Legato off, Transition legato and release normal, when I pass from velocity 80 to 81 the marcato attack lights up and there is a massive increase in sound intensity.

When you try this in standard view, by stacking 11P VI-14 Long and 15P VI-14 Long sfz patches to achieve a XFade between those 2 patches by velocity, which occures at velocity 64, the XFade is smooth and progressive without any gap.

Is this different behaviour normal or did I miss something ?

    Thank you.

  • Hello Eric!

That behavior is expected. When you trigger the "Long" articulation with velocity 81 or higher, the Marcato/Sforzato patches get triggered.

    Best regards,
    Andi

    Hello Andi,

    Thank you for your answer.

As you could guess, I would have preferred a Xfade effect with smooth transition... 🙂

    Have a good week-end

  • Hello Eric!

A full crossfade between the Regular and the Marcato/Sforzato patches would double the amount of players and double the amount of voices streamed.
Remember that you still have CC1 for Velocity XFade. That should cover most needs.

    Best regards,
    Andi

    Hello Andi,

Thank you for the technical information.

For the time being, I will sacrifice the confort and the simplicity of the "Prime flow" for the possibilities and the flexibility provided by the Standard Synchron Player GUI.

    Best regards,
    Eric
