  • How many VSL instruments can be loaded in Dorico?

    Hi!

With the risk of appearing as a really newbie to MIDI (of which I am in certain aspects really am 😉 and as a former user of Finale , I wonder how many VSL/Synchronized instruments I can load in Dorico at the same time, since the Synchron Player is not a multi timbral plug-in? Or is it?

I've looked on the tutorial samples provided in the Dorico software, made with Halion Sonic and there are several instruments loaded in Dorico's Endpoint start ups. Is it possible with Synchron Player plug-in and if so, how to do it?

And I would be grateful how to load Mir Pro 3D in Dorico´s mixer?

    All the best,

    Anders

  • How many would depend on your system and RAM. The Synchron play is not multitimbral, so you would usually load a player for each instrument. The different instances share program code, so there's very little hit on resources by using multiple instances.

You can also use Vienna Ensemble. The non pro version is free, but can only load VSL instruments

Dorico, Notion, Sibelius, StudioOne, Cubase, Staffpad VE Pro, Synchon, VI, Kontakt Win11 x64, 64GB RAM, Focusrite Scarlett 18i20, August Forster 190
  • Hi,

You should look into the Dorico Wizard available from Vienna Assistant. It will help you setup endpoint, playback templates and expression maps.
