Dear Paul,
I am reaching out to you regarding a recurring issue with Vienna Ensemble Pro that is severely affecting my work. Despite my efforts, I have been unable to resolve it. Below are the details of my setup and the error encountered:
System Configuration:
- My primary DAW is Studio One 6.5.2.
- Studio One runs on a Mac Studio M1 Ultra with 128 GB of RAM, under macOS Ventura 13.3.
- Vienna Ensemble Pro (version 7.3.3610) is installed on a slave PC equipped with an Intel Core i9-13900K, 128 GB of RAM, running Windows 11 Professional.
- Both computers are connected via a 10 Gbit network.
Problem Description: For several months, I have been working on a large orchestral template in Vienna Ensemble Pro, but it has been regularly crashing with the following message:
"Hey, a bad thing happened, but you can help us help you!
By providing as many details as possible about what you were doing to get here. You'll help us make the software better.
Feel free to include your email in case we need to contact you.
Your systemID is e850d458."
Additional Details:
- I use several players in my orchestral template: primarily Kontakt 7.7 (Native Instruments), but also Sine (Orchestral Tools), UVI Workstation (UVI), Spitfire Audio Player (Spitfire Audio), and Synchron Player (Vienna).
- Understanding that VEP works better with a limited number of instances, I have set up 6 instances dedicated to each instrument family, each containing numerous groups (often Kontakt 16-track groups) to organize my sound libraries.
- I systematically purge all samples to ease the RAM load on my PC.
- Both machines (slave PC and primary Mac) each have 2 iLok licenses, with VEP installed in the same up-to-date version on both.
- The issue occurs randomly, often during the template loading process or, if it manages to open, during composition.
- I have been using VEP for several years and have followed all best practices recommended in the manual and on forums, but the problem persists. I have already submitted multiple reports through the software interface, but I have not received a response.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in identifying and resolving this issue. You can reach me at this email address: studio@emotive-muzik.net
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Anthony Touzalin
