Apassionata Strings SYZ SE 2+ Bonus

Hello Andi,

I'm experimenting setting up templates with the synchronized special edition. I have vols 1 and 2 with the pluses.

I hit a problem with the Apassionata strings in these. What is the correct way to set them up?

Which are the right staves in the Add Instruments list? The pdf on integration states instruments with [VSL Special Edition] at the end. Correct?

How many channels in Sibelius playback - 5 or 10? - since the bonus is the con sord samples - but the house style only gives Apassionata [instrument] SE2+Bonus, not a separate one for the muted samples - whereas other string groups have separate mute references. Should there only be 5 staves needed, with 'con sord' to change the sound? But in Vienna Ensemble you need 10 instances of the synchron player because the Apassionata strings and muted samples have to be loaded in separate synchron players, not one.

I also find the Sibelius mixer wants to put violins 1 and 2 on the same channel (1).

The SYNCHRON-ized Special Edition Vol. 2 Appassionata strings have different presets for senza sordino and con sordino. So if you want to use both preset types for five sections each, you will need ten channels. You will need to set up the same ten channels in Sibelius on the Manual Sound Sets page. It can have different reasons why articulation changes don't work as expected or instruments play on the wrong channel. Did you go through the Troubleshooting section of the "Sibelius Integration" tutorial yet? All possible reasons that come to my mind are listed there.

I got it to work. I only had the 2022 document about Sibelius integration so the passage you quoted wasn't in it.

How do I download the entire pdf? - I seem to only be able to download a section at a time.

The other issue was the program names because it isn't obvious that 'violins mute' would work with anything like Appassionata SE2+bonus. I was looking for a name that matched. (Perhaps this thread will help others.)

Currently it is not possible to make a pdf of a full manual, but only for sections. We have it on our to-do list.
