  • I see on VI-C that Ben has said licence transfers of VI products will now be allowed after sales and support cease.

    Well done VSL.

  • Hello

I saw on august that the proposition for solo string synchro ized was for solo string 1, solo string sordino and violin and cello solo for the price of 335 euros. Now it s the same price for only solo 1 and violin and cello solo. If you calculate the price offer for the news customers who buy the series V1 it will be the same price, we have to pay 2 times. Is there a mistake or not ?

  • Hi Patrick,

I‘ve answered already per support within case #541472 with a current valid calculation for you.

    Best, Michael

  • Thanks i saw. I reply.

  • I'm a newcomer to the VSL world as of a few months ago, invested in the VI Super Package (since I get the strong impression the Synchron-ized are targeted more towards Hollywood than classical, and didn't take to the demos). Sad to hear I'll only be getting a couple of years of maintenance of the software, I knew it was the older option but didn't think it'd get the axe this soon after buying!

Will I still be able to re-download them after 2025 if for instance my computer failed, as long as I don't update past Windows 11?

  • Hi @amie - Yes, you will be able to re-download your instruments and the software as usual - also after 2025.

As for the sound: No, the SYNCHRON-ized Series allows the same flexible & 100% dry workflow as the VI Player. So, those are both suitable for the same kind of orchestral work.

  • Recently got the VI Saxes & upgraded to the Synchronized Saxes. I think the hunt for the best Jazz library for Saxes ends here. I’ve never seen or heard a Sax library as best as this. None! And can’t believe actually VSL brought this. VSL nails classical Orchestral stuff but when heard the Saxes play, I think VSL bested every Jazz library for Saxes out there.

As for the Synchron Player, I found out the default preload samples is set to 4096. Is this normal, less or more? May be just about right? Also, what’s pan law which is set to -3db or something. Is that something that needs to be changed? Oh and when I load the patches or presets, I don’t see the range of the instrument but when I press a key, it shows up. I figured out this from the previous version. Is this normal? I am on Mac m1.

    • Usually you don't have to change Preload-Size, the Player does measurments in the backgroudn and chooses the best value for you.
    • Pan Law: You don't have to change this. More info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panning_law
    • By default the samples of an articulation will be loaded after the first Note-on was received. That's why at first the keyboard-range is not visible. You can change that behavior in the Player's settings, but it's a small feature that can safe a lot of RAM since most of the times you don't need all articulations in one project.
