Please read up on how Ambisonics works. This is not simple power panning. Like in the real world (maybe with the exception of unechoic rooms or deserts) there will always be sound from all directions.
If you expect MIR to work differently, then please stop using it and sell the license.

We are not speaking of Ambisonic but Dolby Atmos. Read on Dolby site the definition.
Paul in a tutorial video said that Mir Pro 3D was compatible Dolby Atmos and to use DearVRmonitor
In MIR manual it is said the same.
This is not the case
The solution is to Pan in Logic and to use stereo object to have 3D object panner until you implement real Dolby Atmos.
Today you cannot say that MIR is compatible 7.x and 9.x Dolby AtmosWho will want to buy a license if it is not fully Dolby Atmos compatible !
Anyway I LIKE very much MIR PRO 3D 😀

Dietz, breath in...... breath out...... Repeat for as long as needed.

Cyril, you are the expert, and we others are all wrong. Award-winning scores, chart-breaking Atmos music productions mixed with MIR 3D - they all didn't happen. You know everything about immersive audio, everybody else has no idea. I finally got it, thanks.

Hello Dietz
Cool !
I am not an expert I AM JUST A BEGINNER that is trying to figure out to use Dolby Atmos in his music.
I have analyse Fabio' theme, he put the violin on the left in MIR, the violin sound is send to all speakers ! WHY ?
Is it a Logic problem or a MIR feature ?
Give us another Logic project using Dolby Atmos that does the job
@Mary Willem, as an expert, can you help us ?Many thanks
Cyril

Is it a Logic problem or a MIR feature ?This is a MIR feature. Ambisonics is not the same as simple power panning. Like in the real world, every noise in a hall will be distributed as a wave front, not as a laser-sharp vector, due to the nature of sound. This is what Ambisonics - the foundation of all positional and directional features if MIR - is all about.
... I explained this to you over and over again, the facts won't change.

When I speak to you about Dolby Atmos you reply "power planning"
So this is a confirmation that MIR is not Dolby Atmos compatible, but you would not say it.
When in the microphone setup you chose an immersive 7.x or 9.x it is very misleading .
What says Paul in the video is misleading too !
If Paul had not say that MIR is made for Dolby Atmos it will not had made confusion !

We can continue this fruitless discussion in circles for years, I think. Good grief. 🤪
But let me ask you a question: How do you encode any 3D reverb (other than MIR 3D) to Atmos?
Hello Dietz
I agree with you the discussion is closed, now it is confirm that MIR Pro is not Dolby Atmos

You are the specialist.😀
For the moment with the information I have, I will use MIR and Pan in Logic. The problem is you disable the 3D object planner if there is Mir on the mixer trackIf you allow the use of the 3D object Planner, this could be a solution !
If anybody has another idea he is welcome. Thanks
Kind regards

now it is confirm that MIR Pro is not Dolby Atmos [compatible]This is wrong. I've already explained it to you several times: As with all other 3D audio applications (including your beloved Logic Pro, BTW), the output of MIR 3D must be encoded to Dolby Atmos. Furthermore, Dolby's ‘Objects’ are not the Holy Grail when it comes to mixing music; in the vast majority of cases the Atmos ‘Beds’ are what is used in a music mix.

You are the specialist.Yes, I am, but still you do neither read my constant flow of explanations, nor do you answer the questions I have posed to you to help you understand your fallacies.
As a consequence, from now on we will delete all your posts that manically repeat your false assumptions and conclusions. If nothing else helps, you will be banned from this forum again for some time.
