  • How To Add 2nd & Subsequent Instrument Tracks

    Hi All,

I Am Using Mac Cubase 10.5, With The Vienna Instrument Libraries (VEP7). I would Like To Add About 12 Cubase Instrument Tracks For The Various Orchestral Winds, (And Then Do The Same For Brass, Strings, Etc).

Cubase Provides Information About Setting Up A 1st Instrument Track, But I Cannot Find Anything About Setting Up A 2nd Or 3rd Instrument Track.

I Am Trying To Connect The 1st Instrument Track To A Specific Woodwind (e.g., Flute). But If I Try To Add A 2nd Woodwind Track (e.g., Oboe), My VSL Server And Woodwinds Instance No Longer Provide An Option To Connect A 2nd Wind Instrument.

Can Someone Tell Me How I Would Do This ?

Is There A Way To Set This Up Efficiently OR

Do I Need To Set Up 16 Separate Instances For 16 Instrument Tracks, And If So, How … Since I Cannot Connect The Woodwinds After The 1st Track.

Any Assisrance Would Be Greatly Appreciated

  • Hi All

I Have Found 3 Methods To Do This ...

Cubase > Project > Add Multiple Instrument Tracks >

VEP7 Server Project > Add Instrument Tracks As Separate Individual Instances.

Cubase > Project > Add Instrument Track > Add Midi Track(s) > Set

Inspector Input Routing = Vienna Instruments Midi

    Inspector Output Routing = 01 (e.g. Strings) - VEP 01Midi In

Bank Channel (1-16) For Specific Instruments

    (Channel 1 = Violin 5 = Cello)

    OR

    Cubase > Preferences > Midi > Midi File > Import Options >

Destinations = Instrument Tracks > OK; Set

Inspector Input Routing = Vienna Instruments Midi

Inspector Output Routing = 01 VEP Midi In

Bank Channel (1-16) For Specific Instruments

    (Channel 1 = Piccolo 13 = Contrabassoon)

    Hi All,

Hope you can make sense of above.

I wrote a more detailed and precise explanation, but it didn't go through ... I seem to have posting problems.

I don't know how CPU - Intensive the first Method (with multiple Instances) is.
