  • can I remote control MIR ? (MIDI, OSC ?)

I build myself a TOUCH OSC template and like to remote control MIR PRO.

I did not find any MIDI preferences and wonder if there is a way to do it right from the MIR Engine, oder if there is a way to control it through Cubase

  • Right now, all parameters you can automate reside in the actual plug-in and affect the Instrument Icon only:

Neither Icon positioning nor any Microphone -or Venue-related parameter could be changed without noticeable interruption and sudden impact on the CPU, that's why it was a conscious design decision to exclude them from the selection of automation targets.

That said, we received a handful of requests regarding the implementation of OSC during the last months, so it's on the list of recent feature requests already. However, it hasn't been decided whether this will be an actual addition for a future update or not, so please don't hold your breath. 😉

Sidenote: WetSend and WetSend Output are only available in ProTools for technical reasons. In other hosts they are part of the list only for compatibility reasons, AFAIK.

    Kind regards,

  • If your piece is in Dolby ATMOS, for the moment you can use the Pan in Logic, it is not perfect but it is better than nothing

This has nothing in common with the way MIR 3D spatializes audio. The DAWs built-in panning devices should not be used (or at least only with the utmost caution) when MIR 3D is supposed to work as intended, and vice-versa.

When I will return to the studio I will do a test of the same piece :

Dolby ATMOS in Logic only v.s. Dolby ATMOS in Logic with MIR

The immersive allow to hear your instruments spread on the 11 speakers, so you need to set your instrument quite dry

May be the ideal will be that VSL make a rectangular venue only for Dolby ATMOS

As I am away I use DearVR Monitor, but for the moment I am not convince ; I have to do more experiments.

My first concern is to hear on my Iphone and/or on my Mac one of my Dolby ATMOS piece ! how come ?
