  • Vienna Suite .vst3 standard location

    Hi all,

I'm having trouble installing Vienna Suite. I've installed it for the VST3 files, but can't see where the .vst plugins are being stored. Is there a default folder for them please?

    Many thanks.

  • Hi! The user never has to choose or manage plugin locations on macOS systems. On Windows, the VST2 location is always set by the user, as there is no fixed folder. The Vienna Assistant uses the latest known VST install location. Often, it's a folder like this:

    C > Program Files > VSTplugins > ...

  • In this case the user is asking about VST3 and not VST2, and for VST3 there is no choice of the location. For VST3 on Windows the VST3 spec enforces a certain folder, which is "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3".

  • Hi Andreas, thanks for your reply.

I'm having real trouble with the plugins from Vienna Suite after reinstalling Windows a couple of months ago. The VST3 versions aren't showing up in Cubase and the VST2 versions aren't showing up in Vienna Ensemble Pro 5.

Other VSL plugins like MIRacle and VEP Event Input are showing up just fine, it's just Suite-related ones that are missing. The .vst3 files are in the Program Files / Common Files / VST3 folder and the .dll files are in the Program Files / Common Files / VST2 folder, I can see them all in file explorer, but other programs act like they're not there.

Any idea what the problem is and how I can fix it please?

    Many thanks,

    Pyre
