  • Using only 1 instance for a full orchestra?

Is it possible to load all the instruments of a full orcehstra in just one instance? For example, to load a full orchestra of:

    3(picc).3(ca).3(bcl).3(cbn) / sax / timp, 3 perc / pno or cel / harp / str (Vln1 & Solo Vln1.Vln2.Vla.Vc.Cb) [more or less 60 channels in one isntance]

I am looking forward for any answer, Thanks!

  • Hi! If your host supports multi-port, then yes. The manual contains sequencer-specific sub chapters.

After preferring section or library instances all this time I am moving to a single instance with all instruments in my VSL main libraries. I am doing this for use with Dorico to make it easier to mix entirely in VE Pro. A comment from mducharme got me considering it. I've created a basic setup in both VEP and Dorico, but have not quite reached the testing stage for actual work.

My VE Pro instance is using 30 MIDI ports and has more than 300 instrument channels. I have 64 GB of RAM and a Core i5 processor from 2019. All instruments are loaded onto SSDs.
