I have VEP7 and have been assigning synthesiser parameters in a server project. This seemed to be going very well until I realised that VEP7 doesn’t seem to differentiate automation parameters by their internal (VST) number, but rather by their name when saving the server project.
This would be fine if plugin manufacturers diligently gave each automation parameter a unique name but unfortunately they don’t.
Case in point, u-he’s DIVA synthesiser. It has a high pass filter and a low pass filter, each have cutoff and resonance parameters. I can assign all 4 of these parameters successfully and control them independently, but when the server project has been saved and reloaded only the high pass filter is controlled, by the automation for both the high pass and low pass filters.
Why? My guess would be because its cutoff and resonance controls appear first in the list of automation parameters and share identical names with those for the low pass controls, which appear later but are ignored.
The same holds true for the envelope generators. There are two sets of controls named attack, decay, sustain and release. After the project is saved, only the first set is controlled - by the automation for both.
Please fix this. Thanks.
