  • VEPro7 Crashes when MIR Pro 3D is switched from CPU to GPU POWER

    Hi,
I'm trying the demo of Vienna MIR Pro 3D with Vienna Power House. I'm using Cubase 13 Pro with VEPro 7 Server. MIR PRO 3D is loaded in VEPro7. In MIR PRO 3D, every time I switch from CPU to GPU POWER, VEPro7 Server crashes.

  • I'm afraid the only help we can offer is indeed the confirmation that Intel graphics cards are not supported (yet?) by Vienna Power House. Not much we can do about it ATM.

Hope you enjoy MIR 3D nonetheless! Your CPU should be powerful enough for a high number of instances, even without immediate GPU support. 😊

Powerhouse isn't ready for primetime yet. Many posts around different forums, problems with an approved AMD and NVidia. I have instant crash of the DAW (tested Nuendo 13, Reaper, Live) with AMD rx7900 xtx when switching to GPU

I have emailed vsl support, posted here, on Vi-Control and GPU Audio discord with no constructive response (just sorry we cant help type responses) except one reply here from GPU Audio with a driver link only.

Someone with an approved nvidia card also had instant crash problems with ucrtbase.dll and said it stopped crashing after a windows update. They said there were no CPU gains when GPU is enabled anyway. Some have said CPU increases when switched to GPU. I have tried updating Win 11 os, Microsoft Visual C+ software, run sfc and dism. There is suggestion of using ProcDump app to capture crash info but I requires command line stuff I still havent mastered. I will have a look at Event viewer like you have.

VSL if you are listening, I think you should still be offering introductory price for Powerhouse if you are going to sell a beta product. The amount of time I have already wasted on this, and I paid for a full license at EU169. Not happy.

I suggest to get in contact with sales@vsl.co.at. Include links to your unsolved issues. Maybe VSL's sales team can arrange a return (... no promises, I'm just an audio guy. 😊...).

    Thanks Dietz.

Its a bit late now since I bought a AUD1800 rx 7900 xtx just for Powerhouse and to run my 4 monitors which were running fine on an older rx580 (not Pwerhouse compatible). I have no choice but to persist with it.

My email to VSL support still has no reply although Ben (via the ViControl forum) said they would look into it swiftly 3 days ago.

It seems I'm caught in a loop of each party (GPU Audio/VSL) saying they cant do anything about it. Do you know of anyone who is succesfully using an AMD card? What are their specs?

Is this a job for GPU Audio support? Both companies are convientiently vague about who provides support.

  • Hi Ben,

We are currently looking into your case - we also received your email and I just follow up with more questions and info we would need. Please check your existing case! Thank you!

Hi @Matej, we don't support Intel GPUs yet. There is no timeline I can share publicly, but we are confident we can bring it up someday.
The reason we aren't doing this right now is, that embedded Intel GPUs are typically low-end GPUs and do not offer too much computing power, and the market share of discrete Intel GPUs isn't there yet.

Hi @bcslaam, I replied in regards to your case in the other thread.

We also tested ourselves and confirmed user cases of 6000 Series GPUs on Windows. Please allow me to switch to direct messages and help you there. Thank you!
