  • Can't install VSL for Dorico "for all users of this computer" on Mac Studio

I am the only user of the computer, so I have installed most things, including Dorico (now 5.1) as accessible to all users of the computer. When I run the VSL for DOrico INstaller, I am prevented from installing it anywhere except to the "home folder" which is associated with my user name. The options to select specific disk or the general Applications folder are both greyed oout. When I run the installer, somehow I do see the playback templates in Dorico 5.1. However, none of the expression maps are visible. Not sure where they are going.

Any help with this would be appreciated!

I am running MacOS 14.2.1 and Dorico 5.1.

  • Hi!

We double-checked with a fresh and clean installation of both Dorico 5 + the VSL for the Dorico installer. Expression Maps install and show up correctly inside Dorico 5.1. Kindly note that Dorico 5 is placing its files in the USER library - not the SYSTEM library. We recommend not to change that. If you continue to experience issues, please get in touch with our support via support@vsl.co.at.

    Best,

  • Thanks for the reply. I couldn't get them to appear, so I moved Dorico to my home folder and then ran the installer for VS for Dorico again. That worked. Not sure why they didn't show up previously.
