  • Re-route audio from DAW to VEPro

    Hello everybody,

Firstly I'd like to wish all the VSL community the merriest holiday season 🎉

I wanted to know if there was a way to re-route audio coming from my DAW inside VEPro. Let me explain:

I'd like to create this chain :

[All my VST and instances in VEPro] => [Midi tracks in Cubase] => [VEpro outputs grouped in stem busses in Cubase] => [Routing Stem busses from Cubase inside another instance of VEPro for mixing and mastering] => [final stereo output in Cubase].

So far I know the first half of my process. But I'd like to unload Cubase as much as possible.

Thank you for your guidance, everybody 🙏🙏

Although this would be possible on a technical level, I would strongly recommend avoiding the part I crossed out in your quote. Instead, stay right in VE Pro.

If you really need the extra complication, you'll need to use VE Pro's Audio Input plug-in, which you can find in Cubase's plug-in selection. Be aware of the fact that this seemingly simple task is a rather CPU-intensive hack that will put quite some strain on your system. Modern DAWs are fairly restrictive environments that are not designed to pass signals to other applications internally.

  • Hello Dietz,

Well then, no reason to change 😊 I just wanted to unstrain my Cubase the most I could (eg, having all the mastering processing in VEPro), but if in you're opinion it is better to leave it as it is, then, I won't change anything 😊

    SIH (sure it helped) and
    MXMas (Merry Christmas!)
