  • Getting message, "error locating resource could not find instrument volume please reinstall VS Pianos

    Hi,

As mentioned, I'm getting the message: "error locating resource could not find instrument volume please reinstall VS Pianos' and would appreciate some help.

Everything worked fine until I tried to apply a VSL Piano update a few days ago. Windows 10 wanted to update at the same time and I denied the Windows update. I then got a message from VSL that something running on the PC was interferring with the VSL update, did I want to retry. I did, and got the same message. So, I cancelled the update and attempted to open my VSL Steinway D, at which point I got the error message.

I downloaded and installed the Steinway and am getting the same message repeatedly.

The Vienna Assistant says that the Steinway is installed at C/Users/Public/Documents/VSL Content and there is 117GB of content (standard licence). Als, the Steinway is activated within my iLok Cloud account.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've found the solution, thankfully. I expect that Windows was interfering with the VSL Piano update and the update file got corrupted.

At any rate, the Vienna Synchron Pianos player app totally disappeared but the desktop icon remained so I had no idea that it was gone. When I clicked on that icon, I got the error message which, frankly, was no help at all.

After trying many ideas, in Vienna Assistant I found that the Vienna Synchron Pianos player app was no longer installed! Reinstalling it fixed the problem.

Maybe this will help someone else in the future.
