  • [SOLVED] How to toggle between Velocity X-fade modulation and midi-controlled velocity in the same instrument?

Dear friends and VSL support team!

I have a question about a small problem which I would love to solve!

I cannot seem to midi-map the switch between two different ways of controlling velocity in the same melodic line. For example between staccato notes and a performance legato note played consecutively. It seems that for the same instrument patch I have to choose between:

    1. Switching on velocity X-fade and a use the modulation wheel on my keyboard.
    2. Midi mapping the velocity of each note.

The issue is that I would love to use the modulation wheel on the performance legato note but on the staccato notes it makes more sense to use the velocity touch of the actual keys on the keyboard.

This issue would also be relevant when switching between matrices within the same instrument. It would be great not to have to create a separate track for the different ways of controlling velocity..

Thanks for your help and any good advice!

    All the best,

    Alex

  • Hi Alex! You can use CC28 to enable/disable Velocity Crossfade (or VelXF, in short). When disabled, your dynamics are controlled via velocity!
