  • VEP7 Pro doesn't recognize new VST3 (build 7.3.3499)

    Dear VSL support team,

thanks for releasing a recent fix for this issue.

For some reasons VEP7 Pro doesn't seem to recognize any new VST3 on my system. I don't know about VST2 as I don't use them anymore.

Is anyone else encountering a similar behavior? Your assistance is greatly appreciated!

  • Hi dream,

    Thanks for your input!

Which OS are you working on? And what do mean by "new VST3", is it newly installed plug-ins? Which ones are affected?

    Thanks for the additional information!

Hey Paul! Your avatar looks fantastic in this new forum, by the way. 😊

Sorry for my unclear explanation earlier. When I mentioned the 'new VST3,' I was referring to the newly installed plugins. These are the ones I'm currently installing after the last, maybe three, VEP7 PRO builds, and unfortunately, they're not getting recognized.

I'm running the latest version of Monterey (12.7.1) on a Mac Pro Intel.

  • Hi dream,

Thanks for the nice words. 😊

That's the first time we hear such a behaviour... So you can see all your existing VST3 plug-ins, but newly installed ones are not available after installation. Weird. Which plug-ins are the ones that are affected?

I'll have to find a way to reproduce this here to take it to our development team.
Please make sure to use the latest VE Pro version, in any case!

Indeed, I'm able to see all my existing VST3 plugins, but strangely, I can't spot the newly installed ones after the last few updates—probably around 3 or 4 builds ago. I didn't notice this immediately.

When I initially posted, I believed I had the very latest build installed. Yet, upon revisiting today after reading your post, I discovered version 7.3.3502 available. I promptly installed it, but there was no change in recognizing the new plugins.

Mainly UADx (native), which I'm thrilled to see they're finally porting to native support.

I've taken the liberty of attaching two screenshots for reference. One showcases what I see inside Vienna, while the other exhibits a partial list (which, amusingly, is longer than the window can handle 🤣).

Nevertheless, it's not confined to just Universal Audio. If my memory serves me well, it's also affecting the new free Waves plugins that were recently released on Black Friday, as well as other Plugin Alliance stuff, and some more.

    Hope this helps!

  • Well, just reporting that upgrading Monterey to 12.7.2 had VEP7 Pro scanning new plugins again. 😊 Yay!

  • The VE Pro license manager also has a button to "Reset & Rescan All" (plug-ins).

    Thanks Andreas!

Unfortunately that function didn't have an effect with previous OS version. I'm glad it's all back to normal. 😊
