  • Wanted: Keyboard with 88 keys as MIDI-Controller - *unweighted*

I tested "weighted" und "half-weighted" keybords and immediately afterwards played on a "real" steinway concert grand piano.
At least for me these keyboards did not feel at all similar to a real piano; basically too heavy and too sluggish - all of them.
Btw, to do this type of test was only possible at the one shop at Thomann - at least the only one I found.

My antique keyboard felt better; however, it has only 61 keys; now I need 88 keys to play my new VSL-Boesendorfer etc..

I only found "weighted" und "half-weighted" keybords with 88 keys; not one without any additional mechanics - after many hours af research.

Just as a "sensitive" Midi Input is needed; additional knobs, faders etc. are not necessary. Compact would be great, because I don't have much space.

Any hint? Thanyx a lot for any comment, link or whatever!

  • I have a Kawai VPC 1, 88-key midi controller, and I am very happy with it. It is very similar to playing my grand piano.

Many, many thanks @Dewdman42 for the tip!
    I didn't find the LM88+ anymore, but I did find the LX88+.
Simply 88 facts and without "weighting" and "half-weighting".
I was already convinced that there was no such thing (anymore)!
    Thank you!

  • Thanks for the tip, but this is the fully weighted and, unless I'm mistaken, also the most expensive, right? I'm just looking for a *non-* weighted one, simply because I'm used to it and my ancient keyboard just doesn't have enough keys. Thanks anyway!!!
