    I don't like being dependent on the cloud. My internet is too shaky for one thing. It was out for several hours yesterday, for example. Also, I just don't like having to be online in order to work on my music.

    In this case we recommend on getting a physical iLok USB stick.

    With the exception of our free libraries there are no plans to allow machine activation.

    Thank you for your reply. For people who don't posses a dongle, this is a considerable expense.  Purchasing Downtime also involves an expense. And Vienna doesn't even benefit from these transasctions, as they are paid to Ilok. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this.  Why force people to spend money when it's not really necessary? Dongles are going the way of the Dodo anyway. They're yesterday's technonlogy. Why make it difficult?

    As much as I understand your concerns, but machine activation does not offer the level of protection against piracy that is necessary for us to maintain existing and develop new software and libraries.
