    Hi all,

       I am using the Synchron sax Library.

     I wish to use single key switches in MainStage in the range of C-2 Octave for Longs & C-1 Octave for shorts.  that will trigger the combination of Synchron key switches that I will have chosen.

    1) Only one key switch per combination of Synchron key switches ( as per above)

    2) Allocation to key switch of my choice 

    3) Nothing from Synchron must interfere with my full range piano playing nor the key switch range above.

    Does anyone have an idea of how this could be done?

    If not I do also have the Sax library in Vienna Instruments library if there is an easier solution there.

    I am new to VSL, so maybe I have just not understood well, how to do the simple stuff.

    Yes you should create an Articulation Set with all articulations you want to use playing live. You can do this in Logic or Main Stage. For each you can allocate one midi remote key which will activate the articulation. You do this  on the Switches page in the articulation set editor. 

    There are about 115 articulations per instrument in this library with maximum of 3 key switches which Logic can activate. 50 or so have 4 or more to activate which Logic cannot manage with one midi remote key.  All these are rather exotic so you are probably OK with the 115 Logic compatible ones..

    VSL provides Cubase Expression Maps for this library with more than 160 articulations. These can be converted to Logic articulation sets e.g. with a program called XDAW. It works but does need a lot of manual editing work before you can really use them. You first have to delete all articulations lines with more than 3 key switches to be able to save it as a Logic set and youprobably should also delete all which are only attributes (like bend and fall). Next you have to copy-paste all full articulation names in the Cubase map from the slot column to to the articulations column to be able to have a comprehensible list of articulations in Logic. Cubase uses a grouping field like Staccato and a second field with a detailed name while Logic has only one full name. Note I think there are also a few small errors in the VSL provided set (e.g. a mixup for the third switch between octaves 5 and 6 for some attributes like vibrato, non vibrato).
