  • Clearing MIR cache before playback to avoid distraction

    I've been puzzling about this:

In Logic Pro on a Mac - if I stop/pause palyback and then start playback again the end of the MIR reverb tail from the phrase that was playing before I stopped is still cached/buffered and plays back as the piece starts up again.

    It's a really distracting problem.

Is there a key command to clear the cache/buffer in MIR/Logic ?

  • This seems to be a Logic-specific thing that I have never experienced on my systems, but I will ask around if there is a setting or Logic preference that allows normal operation. We'll get back to you ASAP.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Louis C,

That is indeed a weird think with Logic sometimes.
I don't have a solution in mind other than trying different buffer settings, but it won't be long before our Logic specialist Marnix Veenenboos will be back from his holiday.

And maybe you are lucky and one of the Lpgic guys in this forum can help you out!

    Best,
    Paul

  • Hi Louis,

    I don't have this problem.

I also work quite often making a loop on a few notes

What is your pre-load buffer size in Logic.?

Do you check the swap file size ? it must be always = to 0, if not re-boot

    What's the 'swap file size = 0' ?

    It's not a parameter I'm familiar with.

  • It is in "Activity Monitor"/Memory at the bootom of page "Swap Used"
