  • kais articulation tool help

    Hi!
Im trying to use kais articulation tool but i just dont understand how. Im new to the enviroment in Logic and only been using logic for a year soon.
I open the articulation tool and connect with a physical and sequenser input, and thats all. How to move on from this. If i just can get it running, then i probably can solve a lot by my self but i need to get it running. Can anybody help me with this or is there any "kais articulation tool for dummies.pdf" out there?

  • I trawled through the forums and eventually found this link

    http://www.qualitystudio.net/fileman/login.asp

The name is vsl and the login is 123456.

It's in the VSL ESX Files folder: double click that and hope that it'll download.

I say "hope" because I tried to download it about 7 times on two separate computers. Eventually it did work, however: looking forward to using it when my new hard discs arrive...

  • Karl,
The attached file explaining the process makes it fairly easy to get everything running. Kai's explanation uses Opus one for a template of example, and in addition, he includes a pic with explanation of the light version of Opus he has put together that runs on a powerbook G4.
The rest of the explanation clearly sets out the required parameters and any changes needed to get things working.
I can assure you i am no technological expert, and i had it going in a fairly short time.

Stick with it Karl, it's a great macro and a superb timesaver.

    Regards,

    Alex.

  • I`ve read that one. I`m lost after :

"1) the Articulation Tool is located in the corresponding Logic song
    2) copy it and paste it in your Autoload song, VSL-template or any other song
    3) insert it in the signal path between the PhysicalInput and the SequencerInput
    4) set the midi channel in the Articulation Control instrument(s) to “All” ... and play"

What now. Where do i load the vsl samples? Should i open a new track with the EXS sampler and load the samples and then somehow route that track to the articulation tool or what?

My brain tells me that i should open the EXS with the vsl samples in the "sequenser input" - from step 3 above, but i dont now how to do it.

Thank you guys for sharing your knowledge!!

  • I started up the essential program and now i understand and it works fine. But there is one thing troubeling me. My external HD (where the vslsampels are located) is working to hard and i keep getting "drop outs" in the sound. Its a new Lacie D2 drive and i doubt that it should behave this way. Is there any settings in the EXS sampler that i should change?
