Forgive my stupidity, but what am I getting wrong?
...Regarding the bank and program numbers each MIDI track is assigned to in Cubase, how does it relate the the info in the Instrument Loader Pane on Giga?
If I load, for example, Alto Flute - Basic Set, then this is what I see:
Channel 1 in Giga says "Basic Instruments"
The Instrument Loader Pane lists:
BASIC INSTRUMENTS Bank 0 Instr 0
AFL-B_stac Bank 0 Instr 1
SFL-B_0'3s Bank 0 Instr 2
etc
etc
COMBINATIONS Bank 1 Instr 0
A number appears in the "Port 1: Channels" cloumn if I double click on one of the instruments.
Let's say I double-click on COMBINATIONS, so that a "2" appears...
Now, does (Giga) Port 2 = (Cubase) MIDI Channel 2 ?
Does (Giga) Instrument # = (Cubase) Program # ?
Does Bank = Bank ?
Should the MIDI Out on Cubase be routed to "GigaOut: Port 2 / Control [Emulated]" or to "Giga3 1: BASIC INSTRUMENTS" ?
Aaargh! No matter what combinations of settings I try, it's always a case of trial-and-error before finding the sound I want.
Please help!
Thanks,
Matheson
