  • Synchron Player Crash

    Hi

I have updated to the new version of Synchron Player (1.2.211) on my Mac Studio, and now the standalone player crashes... see the error in the attached file.

When in a DAW, the DAW (Logic Pro) ask me to quit as the plugin crashed.

Anyone has the same problem? any suggestion as I don't know how to go to the previous version...

    Cheers

Same here. Instant crash on my Mac Studio. A reboot did not help. Synchron players still crashes  😞  I rolled back to the previous version.

  • Same here, Macbook Pro Max, crash during the Install process...

  • Same here. iMac 2020 (Monterey). Crash during the install process of all the players (Harp, Organ, Piano and Synchron). I rolled back.

    Hi,

    Thanks for reporting!

Could you please create support files in your Vienna Assistant and send it to us?

Any crash reports you can include will also be very helpful!

    Best,
    Paul

  • Hi,

    Already on it.
Concerning installation: Could you please try the variation to download the installer by clicking the 3 dots in the product tile, and then install the software manually? Does that work?

    Thanks,
    Paul

  • Yes- I am also having the same crashing issues with Synchron player. 2021 MacBook Pro w Monterey 12.5.1

Latest versions of logic and pro tools both crash instantly.

How do I roll back to previous version? Couldn't find it in the assistant or on VSL.com

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    David

  • update- I did find the rollback button- hopefully this fixes the issue

  • Hi dmann7,

Hope we can add a fix here soon.

Looks like you didn't send in the crash reports, at least not from your registered email address. Could you maybe get in touch with us directly via support@vsl.co.at, best with a copy of those crash reports.

    Thanks,
    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Thanks for your response. Thankfully the rollback seems to have me be back up and working here. Today is a heavy deadline day- but after it's done I will once upgrade to the latest version and try to save the crash log.

I do have a question (sorry- this has probably been discussed on the forum)- when instancing a Synchron plugin in logic it launches the assistant- is this the appropriate behavior? Like it's checking for a license. All of my licenses are on the ilok and up to date. It is only a real nuisance when the assistant asks me to update to latest version- or if the assistant crashes.

    Thanks!

    David

    Hi David,

The plugin opening the Vienna Assistant is not intended. This was fixed some time ago.

    => v1.2.174 - August 30th, 2022

I had to roll back as well - same issue player and piano player crash

  • Hi,
I have a similar problem. After the last update, when I try to start Synchron Player from start menu, only the start screen appears and the program does not start at all (windows 10). This is why Cubase gives me an error when I'm trying to load player from instrument list

player is still available in the list but marked orange. Do you know what that means?

  • Hi everybody,

We have spent all day bug-fixing but didn't get as far as we liked, so we decided to withdraw the latest versions of our Synchron sample players (Synchron Player, Synchron Pianos Player, Synchron Harp Player and Vienna Organ Player) as well as the latest VE Pro 7 Update

    To roll back, please

    1. UNINSTALL the existing version
    2. INSTALL from the NOT INSTALLED tab or click REINSTALL in the context menu of the product icon in the Vienna Assistant

We're sorry for the inconvenience, we hope to provide you with improved versions very soon.

    Best,
    Paul

  • Yes, that version has totally hosed my system.  I had to switch to running Logic in Rosetta because none of my projects would play and Logic was completely unstable with any VSL instrument.

I am running on M1 Ultra Mac Studio, 20 cores, 128 GB RAM.

Lack of native M1 support continues to be a major headache for me.  All of my libraries from other vendors work flawlessly on M1.  Only VSL libraries give me trouble.  As a result, I am using VSL less and less.

  • Hi bmajoros,

    Thanks for the update.

We're working on Silicon native support, it's unfortunately trickier than we assumed.... But we're on it!
