  • Finale notation and VEP7 CC

    Hello,

I do a lot of composing and arranging within Finale 26 and NotePerformer. I am quite taken with the AI aspect especially when it comes to expression and feeling. However when I export a midifile of a part (let's say violins) and import that into my DAW I see that the cc information (coming from dynamics, ie ppp<fff) is "volume" but it would be so awesome if instead it was "expression." So after the midi is imported into my DAW i and I look at Vienna Instruments Pro Instance with the strings loaded I can see the Volume slider reacting from the cc of the midifile. Is there any to change that to the Exp and Filter sliders? It's hardly noticeable on the volume parameter; such a big difference on the Exp and Filter!

    Thank you

  • Hello faucetmusic!

You can set up what dynamic expressions control in the Finale menu Human Playback Preferences => Dynamics/Volume under Dynamic Approach. As far as I know this also effects exported MIDI files.

    Best regards,
    Andi
