  • Apply Role Preset not working

    Hi Dietz,

I suspect that the automatic Role selection, and the Apply Role Preset command is not working in MIR 3D.

I'm using the latest version, on a Mac Mojave. Hosted in VEP and in Dorico (VST).

The Role Preset clearly doesn't change when changing venue. And it doesn't change when pressing the button in the Preset Management window.

The only way to make the Role Preset be accepted is to drag it on the instrument line in the Preset Management window.

  • Hi Paolo,

Sorry to hear that you're facing problems. I just tried it myself and the feature works as expected here. Please try to capture the procedure in a short video and send it to VSL's support with reference to this thread, including all the usual info about your system (... you can use VSL's Assistant to create this summary). TIA!

    Best,

  • Hi Paolo,

Please make sure to apply a Venue Preset from the browser, first. Only with a defined Venue Preset, the respective Roll Presets can be auto-applied.

    Best regards,
    Andreas

    Thank you very much, Andreas.

I've another question: why after assigning a venue to the MIR instance, the same venue is not also automatically applied to the Role Preset Management window? Can they be left separate? For example, can I have a Konzerthaus venue for the instance, and a Synchron Stage one for the Role Presets? When could this become useful?

  • If I understand your question correctly, than it's simply about the possibility to load the Venue-specific settings (Main Mic, Secondary Mic, Output Format(s), RoomEQ Bank etc ...) without changing already positioned Icons on a stage. This is great for trying different setups of the same Venue - just as a very obvious example.

  • And Users could also wish to load custom-made venue presets instead of the VSL-provided venue preset.
