Hello,
Just an FYI, that I found it exceedingly disappointing that VSL appears to have discontinued the additional 32-bit windows server VST host option after 7.1.x ilok migration. I see no Windows ilok version, Via Vienna assistant that also supports 32-bit plugins as before.
It's so surprising that that I still can't believe it and think I may have missed something in ilok/Vienna assistant install process. That there HAS to be a way to run 32-bit plug-ins as we were able to previously. Apologies if I've missed the additional 32-bit VST server/host option somehow in Vienna assistant.
If its really true that the parallel 32-bit plug-in host/server app has been removed for iLok I have more questions:
Doesn't VSL know that many of us continued to use VE Pro, and continued to upgrade, for the sole reason that we could also host our old personal libraries of 32-bit plugins and still use 64-bit DAWS in client/server mode? This was one of the continued selling points for me.
Most importantly, why isn't there a prominent warning about this in your iLok transition documents and presentations?
I'm hoping that I can roll back and still use the older 64-bit and 32-bit elicenser server versions now.
UPDATE: I was able to uninstall all of the VSL iLok 7.1x software and reinstall an old 7.0.x Steinberg elicenser version which installs both 64-bit and 32-bit windows servers. This gets me back to running both 32-bit and 64-bit VSTs in parallel now on Windows now. This does mean that I'll be running version 7.0x until it no longer is compatible with Windows and MacOS.
