  • Dorico, VEP, surround/binaural

    Hi,

    So, Dorico doesn't support surround. Everything has to return from VEP in stereo. But I want to listen to my Dorico projects in surround, and possibly as a binaural mix. How can I do?

    My idea is to send VEP's audio streams to a different program, instead of back to Dorico. A program capable of surround/binaural routing to the phyrical audio outputs. A possible audio chain:

    Dorico --> VEP --> Logic

    How could this be done? How can one send audio to Logic from VEP, while VEP is receiving MIDI data from Dorico?

    Hmm interesting yea.  because I don't think you can use Vep in surround mode while having Dorico in stereo, but could be wrong about that...

    I think you would have to use a different host to connect to VePro...  more like this:

    Dorico-->IAC-->LogicPro--->VePro.

  • Well another possibility might be to use a subhosting plugin of some kind to host the VePro plugin inside Dorico.  You might be able to host Patchworks or one of those...and have that one host the surround VePro plugin...I'm just theorizing...without actually trying that I don't know if it would work..  but it would be worth a try.
